MAKE YOURSELF AT HOME.
We have, by some strange mixture of luck, ambition, elbow grease and a hint of crazy managed to convert a parking lot into our vision of a great restaurant. Yes, a parking lot, the yellow lines are still tattooed on the ground to prove it.
This spot did not come standard with a landline, wifi or much infrastructure natural the needs of a fully functional restaurant, even the electricity is done from the ground up.
Heinrich and Christina – or H & Poppie as they are affectionately known by those who know – have an astounding ability to see potential where others may see just another empty space. It now hosts a pop-up barbershop, floors and walls decorated with artwork by local graffiti heavyweights, coffee by Deluxe and a bathroom with a light that switches on when you enter (it’s like it can sense movement, or has magic).
The choice of blue decorating the walls of House of H pulls together the rustic and urban regalia in a fashion that is both futuristic and nostalgic. It is a home as much as it is hospitality.
H & Poppie will welcome you with the brightest of smiles and *hugs.
*H & Poppie may not always be able to hug you as they have children, and at times those children are climbing all over them like human jungle gym. So you may at times have to live with receiving only a smile.
